CARE TEAM
As Executive Director, Amy brings more than a decade of experience working alongside older adults and their families in a variety of settings. Amy began her career as an occupational therapy clinician, providing hands-on care in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. There, she developed a deep respect for the individuality of each person and a commitment to holistic, culturally responsive care. Her additional certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner reflects her dedication to supporting those living with memory loss with skill, compassion, and dignity.
Her academic background includes a Master of Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from UNC Charlotte. Along with clinical practice, Amy has contributed to research on aging, brain health, and dementia, publishing work and sharing findings at regional conferences. As a faculty member, she has also taught and mentored future healthcare professionals—experience that now translates into building, training, and supporting an exceptional care team at The Abide.
Amy’s professional path and personal experiences with her own family have fueled her mission: to create homes where older adults are not only cared for, but honored, engaged, and truly known.
